Karl Kustom 1967 Corvette Convertible
What made the Roadster a classic was the iconic styling. In appreciation of that original design, Karl Kustom set out to replicate that classic look with the highest standards, maintaining the 1967 Corvette Convertible styling integrity.
Build Process
Each custom Corvette includes the advanced engineered hinges, latches and weather seals of a modern C6.
Once the most important styling aspects of the C2 models were selected, Karl Kustom’s body shop teams went to work to hand-fabricate the body to those classic parameters. Finite alterations were painstakingly performed on the prototype and the result is perfection in styling.
PHASE 1 - YOUR STARTING C6 PLATFORM
At this point, all exterior body panels are removed from your current model Corvette. Left behind is the complete platform, with GM factory drivetrain, to begin the transformation to a Karl Kustom Corvette.
PHASE 2 - THE CREATION OF THE KARL KUSTOM BODY
At KKC, the body panels for your Mid-Year look are carefully handcrafted. Each Kustom Corvette includes the advanced factory GM engineered C6 hinges, latches and weather seals.
PHASE 3 - THE FINISHED PRODUCT
It’s America’s hottest performance car, built with the power to ignite something explosive in a car enthusiast. KKC reclaims that heart-pounding passion for the classic Corvettes of years past. From all elements; the exterior design, the custom wheels, to the handcrafted finish, classic Corvettes have the breath-taking styling you remember and the performance you’ll never forget.
Design
Only the best materials and workmanship go into the making of Karl Kustom Corvettes. The 1967 Corvette Convertible bumpers are made from steel and are triple plated and fit to modern standards. Grills are hand-fabricated using Billet 6061- T6 aluminum material.
Factory door frames are retained and the new body panels are reattached to the platform using modern epoxies and factory-equivalent fasteners. The drive train and mechanicals are all factory GM stock.
Karl Kustom redesigned the Roadster’s tonneau lid to match the 1967 Corvette Convertible body, yet maintained the convertible fit and function of OEM power-top sequencing and operable trunk.
